Veteran Nollywood Yoruba actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has died after battling stage-four cancer.
Newsonspot reports that his daughter, Kira Hassan, confirmed the actor’s death on Sunday evening during an emotional Instagram Live session, where she said, “My daddy is dead. I can’t believe it.”
The news was also announced by entertainment platform Emiralty Africa, which described Ogogo as a star filmmaker and expressed sadness over his passing.
Ogogo’s death came just days after his daughter disclosed that he was battling stage-four cancer. His family had remained deeply involved in his treatment and recovery efforts, while support was also reportedly offered to assist with his medical care.

Kira had earlier spoken publicly about the emotional toll of her father’s illness, revealing how difficult it had become for her to see pictures and videos of him while he was undergoing treatment.
She also described the strong bond between Ogogo and his brother, whom she referred to as her “big daddy”, saying the actor’s illness had been painful for the entire family.
Speaking about her close relationship with her father, Kira said she could not imagine life without him and expressed fears about how she would cope if anything happened to him.
Ogogo was one of the respected figures in Yoruba Nollywood, with a career spanning acting and filmmaking.
