Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has congratulated Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, on the conferment of an honorary Doctor of Law degree by the University of East London in the United Kingdom.
Newsonspot gathered that the university conferred the Doctor of Law degree, honoris causa, on Governor Mbah in recognition of his contributions to governance and public service.
In a congratulatory message, Governor Otti described the honour as a well-deserved recognition of Mbah’s leadership, commitment to public service and efforts toward the development of Enugu State.

Otti said the recognition reflects the impact of Mbah’s administration and the progress recorded in Enugu State under his leadership.
“Your Excellency, this honour from the University of East London is a testament to the impact of your administration in Enugu State,” Otti stated.
The University of East London also highlighted Governor Mbah’s investment in education and his belief in the importance of education to human development.
The institution referenced Mbah’s philosophy that “education is fundamentally the cornerstone of human progress, the bedrock upon which the future stands,” noting that the principle aligns with the university’s values.
Governor Otti said the honorary degree also demonstrates the confidence placed in Governor Mbah’s leadership and his contributions to governance.
He further linked the recognition to the broader vision shared by South East governors to promote development and strengthen the region.
“As leaders in the South East, we share a common vision to rebuild our region and make it a hub of commerce, industry and innovation in Nigeria. Your commitment to good governance is encouraging,” Otti said.
The Abia governor expressed hope that the honour would motivate Mbah to continue serving Enugu State and Nigeria.

Otti also prayed for continued wisdom, strength and success for the Enugu governor as he leads the affairs of the state.
The honorary Doctor of Law degree adds to the recognition of Governor Mbah’s work in public service, particularly his administration’s focus on education, governance and development in Enugu State.
