President Bola Tinubu has nominated Engr Sani Ndanusa as a Non-Career Ambassador/High Commissioner-designate.
Newsonspot reports that Tinubu last week forward Ndanusa’s name and eight nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation.
Engr Ndanusa, the Marafan Nupe previously served as Minister of Sports. In 2023, he aspired for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Niger State.
Other nominees include Dr Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, alongside Muhammad Asma’u, Muhammad Aliyu Makama, Suleiman Gidado, Hon. Louis Ndukwe, Amechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola as members of the commission.
The President also nominated Wakil Bulka as a member of the Federal Civil Service Commission representing Bauchi, Borno and Yobe states.
The Senate referred the Fiscal Responsibility Commission nominees to the Committee on Finance, while Committee on Foreign Affairs will screen Ndanusa. Bulka’s nomination was referred to the Committee on Establishment and Public Service.
The committees were given two weeks to consider the nominations and submit their reports to the Senate.
