A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, has died.
Newsonspot reports that Orbih, who was reportedly an ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, died on Monday, August 31, 2026.
The announcement of his death was contained in a statement signed by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih, Esq., on behalf of the Orbih family.
The family described the death as a painful loss, saying it received the news “with profound sadness and a heavy heart” while submitting to the will of Almighty God.
Orbih is survived by his wife, Mrs Florence Orbih; his children, Ms Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr Mildred Omonemi Orbih; as well as his siblings and other members of the extended family.
The family appealed to relatives, friends and well-wishers to remember them in their prayers as they mourn the loss.
“At this difficult time, we ask family members, friends and well-wishers to remember the entire family in their prayers as we mourn this painful loss,” the statement said.
Born on October 27, 1961, at Ogbona, Etsako Central Local Government Area, Edo State, Nigeria, Orbih was the National Vice-Chairman (South-South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He was the Chairman of the Governing Council of Edo State-owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma.
It added that details of the funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
