Lagos-based public relations consultant and former Head of Corporate Communications at the defunct Skye Bank (now Polaris Bank), Kayode Akinyemi, has announced the passing of his beloved mother, Mrs. Victoria Oja Bodunde Akinyemi.
She died peacefully in the early hours of Friday, June 14, 2026, at the age of 85.
Mrs. Akinyemi was a devout Christian and a respected figure in her community. A long-standing member of Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Iyanu, Afao-Ekiti, she served faithfully in the God Women Society and was also a dedicated member of the church choir for many years.
Beyond her religious commitments, she played a vital leadership role in her hometown as the Iya Egbe (Chairlady) of the Egbe Igbotoluwa of Afao-Ekiti. She was widely known for her compassion, wisdom, and quiet philanthropy within the community.
Mrs. Akinyemi is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who continue to carry on her legacy of faith and service.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.
