Officers of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) have been praised for their humanity and swift response after rescuing an accident victim abandoned along the Nassarawa Eggon-Akwanga Road in Nasarawa State during heavy rainfall.
Newsonspot gathered that the incident occurred at about 5:12pm on May 27, 2026, when a Black Toyota Camry with registration number ABC-327-MQ reportedly suffered a lone accident, throwing the driver, Suleiman Hamidu, popularly known as “Durbi,” out of the vehicle and leaving him severely injured by the roadside.
According to eyewitnesses, several motorists allegedly drove past the scene despite the victim’s critical condition and the heavy rain.
However, a team of officers attached to the Threat Response Unit of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre, led by CSP Ayuba Nehemiah, stopped while returning from an official assignment from Otukpo, Benue State, to Abuja.
The officers immediately swung into action by arranging transportation through a Keke NAPEP to evacuate the injured victim to the General Hospital in Nassarawa Eggon for urgent medical attention.
CSP Ayuba Nehemiah reportedly paid for the victim’s initial emergency treatment from his personal funds to ensure doctors commenced immediate care without delay.
The police team also contacted the DPO of Nassarawa Eggon Division, Ashi Musa, and alerted officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for traffic control and accident management along the rain-soaked road.
In addition, the victim’s daughter, Aisha Nana, was contacted and informed about her father’s condition.
Hospital sources confirmed that the victim is currently stable and responding to treatment.
The officers’ actions have drawn commendation from residents and observers, with many describing the rescue operation as a shining example of compassion, professionalism, and service beyond duty.
