MultiChoice Nigeria has confirmed that the 11th edition of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality television show will premiere on Sunday, July 26, 2026, a week after the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Newsonspot reports that the announcement was made during a press briefing on Wednesday, where organisers disclosed that the winner of this year’s edition will walk away with a record-breaking N160 million grand prize, the highest reward since the reality show’s debut in 2006.
According to the organisers, preparations for the new season began earlier this year with physical auditions held between May 22 and 24 in Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu. Only shortlisted applicants aged 21 years and above with valid means of identification were eligible to participate.
The new season comes on the heels of the successful 2025 edition, which ended on October 5, 2025, with Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, emerging as the winner. Imisi received a prize package worth N150 million, setting a benchmark that has now been surpassed by this year’s record prize.
With a bigger reward and heightened anticipation, BBNaija Season 11 is expected to attract millions of viewers across Nigeria and beyond when it returns to television screens on July 26.
