The highly anticipated 11th season of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) premieres on Sunday, promising viewers another exciting edition of Africa’s biggest reality television show.
Newsonspot reports that MultiChoice Nigeria previously announced that BBNaija Season 11 will debut on Sunday, July 26, 2026, with a record-breaking grand prize worth ₦160 million, the highest prize package since the reality show began in 2006.
According to the organisers, the launch show will air from 7:00 p.m. on Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family, while fans can enjoy uninterrupted 24-hour live coverage on DStv Channel 198 and GOtv Channel 49. The show will also be available for live streaming on the DStv Stream and GOtv Stream platforms.
This year’s winner will receive ₦100 million in cash and a brand-new SUV, bringing the total prize value to ₦160 million.
Speaking ahead of the premiere, the Executive Head of Content and Channels, West Africa, MultiChoice, Atinuke Babatunde, said the new season would raise the bar with fresh twists, bigger stakes and an exciting lineup of housemates.
She noted that BBNaija has continued to redefine entertainment across Africa through authentic storytelling, memorable personalities and captivating moments that attract millions of viewers.
Preparations for the new season began with physical auditions held between May 22 and 24 in Lagos, Abuja and Enugu. The auditions were free and open exclusively to Nigerians aged 21 years and above with valid means of identification.
Popular media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returns as host and is expected to guide viewers through another thrilling season filled with strategic gameplay, challenging tasks, emotional moments and dramatic interactions among the housemates.
Season 11 follows the successful conclusion of BBNaija Season 10, where Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, emerged winner after defeating 28 contestants to claim a prize package worth ₦150 million, including ₦80 million in cash and an SUV.
Eligible DStv and GOtv subscribers will also be able to vote for their favourite housemates through the MyDStv and MyGOtv self-service apps, with additional voting opportunities available to customers who upgrade their subscription packages.
