FirstBank, West Africa’s leading financial inclusion service provider, has announced a series of nationwide engagements to celebrate Children’s Day 2026, reinforcing its commitment to youth empowerment, education, and sustainable community development across Nigeria.
Newsonspot reports that the bank’s Children’s Day activities will feature strategic partnerships with organisations including the Nigerian Television Authority, Nigeria Future Leaders Festival, and Lexicon, with programmes aimed at educating, inspiring, and empowering children from different backgrounds.
The celebrations are scheduled to begin on May 25 with the sponsorship of the NTA Abuja Children’s Day event in Abuja alongside the Youth Edutainment Theatre (YET) Festival in Lagos. On May 26, the bank will also support the Nigeria Future Leaders Festival.
Activities lined up for May 27 include the Lexicon Children’s Day Games, the NTA Channel 10 Lagos Children’s Day celebration, and the NTA Yola Children’s Day Party. According to the bank, the events are designed to encourage creativity, inclusion, learning, and confidence-building among children nationwide.
Speaking on the initiative, Olayinka Ijabiyi, Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at FirstBank, said the sponsorship aligns with the bank’s long-term strategy for youth development and empowerment.
According to Ijabiyi, children remain the foundation of a prosperous and sustainable future, adding that the bank’s support represents a deliberate investment in nurturing creativity, confidence, and opportunities for the next generation.
The Children’s Day sponsorship also reflects FirstBank’s broader sustainability framework, which focuses on education, health, and welfare as key pillars of its social impact initiatives.
The bank further highlighted some of its youth-focused products, including KidsFirst, MeFirst, and Xplore First, all designed to promote financial literacy, savings culture, and early financial inclusion among young Nigerians.
Beyond the Children’s Day celebration, FirstBank disclosed plans to support the ReadBug Literature Festival 2026 scheduled to hold in Abuja in July as part of its continuous investment in youth-focused and educational initiatives.
The bank reaffirmed its commitment to supporting programmes that empower children, strengthen families, and contribute positively to national development through impactful and value-driven engagements.
