The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Agege Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, marking a significant development in the political landscape of Lagos State.
Newsonspot reports that Obasa made the declaration before leaders and supporters of the All Progressives Congress during a gathering attended by party stakeholders and loyalists in Lagos.
The announcement signals a major transition in the veteran lawmaker’s political career after spending over two decades in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Reflecting on his political journey, Obasa noted that he began representing Agege Constituency I in 2003 and has remained a prominent figure in the state legislature for 23 years. He also spent more than a decade serving as Speaker of the Assembly.
According to him, the decision to seek a seat in the National Assembly is driven by his desire to expand his legislative impact and contribute more significantly at the federal level.
