Publisher of Apexreporters Magazine and Security Media News, Hon. Chukwudi Samuel, marked his birthday with strong messages to members of the Nigeria Police Force.
In a WhatsApp message that went viral earlier yesterday, Samuel celebrated in grand style, praising gallant and principled officers of the force while criticizing those whose actions tarnish the police’s reputation.
Speaking to a few journalists about his recent encounter at a police facility in Lagos, Samuel revealed how he was unexpectedly accosted by an officer who declared he was under arrest. He was later shown a petition filed by the solicitors of His Majesty, Eze Nwokedi, alleging that Samuel and others attacked the monarch’s residence with bottles and cutlasses.
Samuel questioned the validity of the petition, noting that it was dated November 26, 2024, yet no invitation had been extended to him until July 2025. He further dismissed the claims as baseless, asking how such an attack could be possible in a secured estate guarded by mobile police officers, OPC members, and CCTV cameras.
According to him, it took the intervention of his godfather, former Inspector General of Police, Chief Mike Okiro, alongside senior officers such as AIG Zone 2 Mustapha Adegoke and ACP Justice Edino Ojali of the X-Squad, to ensure he was not unlawfully detained.
Samuel stressed that many innocent Nigerians are languishing in prison due to poorly investigated cases and the complicity of some officers influenced by powerful individuals. He urged the police to uphold professionalism and fairness in handling cases.
He also dismissed various online reports against him, describing them as false and sponsored by detractors attempting to undermine his growing public image.
Highlighting Chief Mike Okiro and other senior officers as exemplary leaders, Samuel praised their “human-faced and distinctive public service” while reaffirming his commitment to speak up for justice.
