The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has joyfully announced the birth of twin princes with his wife, Olori Mariam Ajibola.
Newsonspot reports that the revered monarch shared the good news on his official Facebook page on Friday, describing the arrival of the twins as a divine blessing to the Royal House of Oduduwa. According to the Ooni, both Olori Mariam and the newborn princes are in good health.
In his statement, the monarch expressed gratitude to God, saying, “To God be all the glory and adoration for His wondrous works and abundant blessings once again. Warmest congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and to Olori Mariam Ajibola on the joyous arrival of twin princes to the royal throne of Oduduwa today. We give thanks to Almighty God as both mother and children are in good health.”
The birth of the twin boys comes years after the Ooni’s separation from his former wife, Naomi Silekunola. The monarch married Olori Mariam in 2022, about 10 months after Naomi left the palace.

Following the separation, the Ooni married six wives within three months in 2022, including Mariam Anako, Elizabeth Akinmuda, Tobiloba Philips, Ashley Adegoke, Ronke Ademiluyi, and Temitope Adesegun.
Olori Mariam, who has a background in the oil and gas sector and hails from Kogi State with family ties to Kwara State, was formally ushered into the palace after traditional rites. Four years after their union, she has now delivered twin princes to the royal household.
Earlier, while celebrating his 48th birthday and seventh coronation anniversary, the Ooni explained that his decision to marry multiple wives was influenced by the traditional heritage and customs attached to the throne of Ile-Ife.
