Muhammad Zuru, Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, has passed away.
Newsonspot reports that his death was confirmed on Tuesday in an official statement released by Murtala Diri on behalf of the Assembly. Zuru reportedly died on Monday evening in Cairo, Egypt, where he had been receiving medical treatment.
Popularly known as Lifiddan Zuru, the late lawmaker represented the Zuru constituency and was a respected figure within the Zuru Emirate.
The statement described his passing as a significant loss to his constituents, the Kebbi State legislature, the political community, and the nation at large. Further details regarding his burial arrangements are expected to be announced by his family and the Kebbi State Government.
In a separate tribute, Kabir Tukura, who represents Zuru, Fakai, Sakaba, and Danko-Wasagu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, praised Zuru as a man of kindness, generosity, and humility.
Tukura noted that his death is not only a loss to his family but also to the people of Kebbi State, particularly the Zuru community, whom he served with dedication and commitment. He extended his condolences to the bereaved family and described the late Speaker as a loyal and devoted son of the soil.
