Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Olatunji Disu has officially assumed duty as the 55th Assistant Inspector General in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos, effective February 9, 2026.
Newsonspot reports that he takes over from AIG Margaret Ochalla, who is currently undergoing a training programme in the United States.
AIG Disu, a Lagos indigene, brings more than three decades of experience in policing to his new role. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Education as well as Master’s degrees in Public Administration and Criminology. Throughout his career, he has served in several key leadership positions, including Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos, Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, and Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking after assuming office, AIG Disu pledged a zero-tolerance stance on corruption and promised to strengthen the operational capacity of the FCID Annex. He also called on stakeholders to support the police in combating crime and promoting justice across the country.
