Security operatives have reportedly arrested more than 100 suspected “imported voters” who were allegedly camped at the residence of an Osun State House of Assembly member ahead of the state’s governorship election.
Newsonspot gathered that the suspected voters, said to be carrying newly issued Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), were reportedly found at the residence of Hon. Abiola Ibrahim, who represents the Irewole-Isokan Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly.
According to reports by Daily Post, the individuals were allegedly brought into the state by a member of the Accord Party to participate in the governorship election.
A video circulating on social media showed one of the alleged voters being questioned by security operatives. During the interrogation, the individual reportedly said the group had been camped at the location in preparation to vote in the election.

The development comes amid heightened political activity and security concerns in Osun ahead of the election.
Meanwhile, the Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has raised concerns over the reported deployment of armed security personnel to the residence of the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun.
In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, the campaign council alleged that more than 10 black Hilux vehicles carrying security operatives arrived at the Speaker’s residence early in the morning and surrounded the premises.
TICC further alleged that the residence had been sealed off and that people inside were reportedly prevented from leaving.
“We have received reports that the residence of the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, has been surrounded by armed security personnel who reportedly arrived in more than 10 black Hilux vehicles,” the council said.
The campaign council added that it had received information that the security personnel had effectively sealed the residence.
However, TICC stressed that it had not independently established the reason for the security deployment.
The council said it remained unclear whether the operatives were deployed to provide security or were carrying out routine official duties.
The reported arrest of the suspected voters and the security presence at the Speaker’s residence come as political tensions remain high ahead of the Osun State governorship election.
