The Dangote Group has firmly denied reports linking it to a truck involved in a recent road accident in Akungba-Akoko, Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
In a statement addressing the circulating rumours on social media and some online platforms, the company clarified that the truck in question – with registration number JJJ 365 XB – is not owned or operated by Dangote Group or any of its subsidiaries.
According to verified records, the vehicle belongs to an independent logistics company that has no affiliation with Dangote Group. Contrary to public assumptions, the truck was transporting crushed stones in reused sacks bearing various brand names, not Dangote products.

Dangote Industries further explained that all its vehicles are easily identifiable, as they are properly branded, numbered, and tracked under a strict fleet management policy. The company reiterated its zero-tolerance approach to safety violations and confirmed that only trained personnel operate its trucks under rigorous compliance standards.
Expressing sympathy for those affected by the unfortunate accident, Dangote Group urged the public and media to verify information before associating its name or brand with any incident. The company also cautioned against using images of Dangote-branded trucks in connection with accidents unrelated to its operations.
Dangote Industries reaffirmed its commitment to road safety, regulatory compliance, and responsible corporate practices across Nigeria and beyond.
