STATEMENT BY FAVOUR BENSON, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, JASHABEL TOUCH-A-HEART FOUNDATION (JTAH FOUNDATION), ON THE KIDNAPPING OF SCHOOL CHILDREN IN OGBOMOSHO, OYO STATE
I am deeply saddened and outraged by the horrific and inhumane kidnapping of innocent school children in Ogbomosho, Oyo State. This cruel act is not only an attack on the affected families but also a direct assault on the future of our nation and the fundamental right of every child to education, safety, and protection.
At Jashabel Touch-A-Heart Foundation (JTAH Foundation), we strongly condemn this beastly act and join millions of Nigerians in demanding the immediate and unconditional release of these children. No child should ever be subjected to such fear, trauma, and uncertainty.
I hereby call on His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, security agencies, law enforcement authorities, and all relevant stakeholders to work together tirelessly and deploy every available resource to ensure the safe and speedy rescue of these children and others who may still be held captive by criminal elements.
This is a time for decisive action. The safety of Nigerian children must remain a national priority. We must collectively strengthen security around schools, improve intelligence gathering, and ensure that those responsible for this heinous crime are apprehended and brought to justice.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the children, their families, their teachers, and the entire Ogbomosho community during this difficult period. We remain hopeful that these innocent children will be rescued unharmed and reunited with their loved ones as soon as possible.
May God protect our children and preserve peace and security across Nigeria.
