As part of its unwavering commitment to community development and the fight against hunger, Fidelity Bank Plc has extended its flagship Fidelity Food Bank initiative to Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Through this intervention, the bank donated hundreds of food packs to residents, marking another milestone in its nationwide food relief efforts.
The Fidelity Food Bank, launched in April 2023, has so far distributed over 250,000 food packs across Nigeria’s six geo-political zones, impacting more than 300 communities. The initiative is designed to ease economic hardship and hunger among underserved Nigerians.
Speaking at the Ado-Ekiti distribution event, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, Divisional Head of Brand and Communications at Fidelity Bank Plc, stated:
“The Fidelity Food Bank is our proactive and compassionate CSR effort, aimed at addressing poverty and hunger across Nigeria. We are proud to bring this mission to Ado-Ekiti and remain committed to promoting food security for the unprivileged.”
The outreach received commendations from community leaders and beneficiaries. Reverend Father Benedict Bimbola Joseph, Cathedral Administrator of Saint Patrick Catholic Cathedral, praised the bank’s generosity:
“This is a first of its kind in our community. Fidelity Bank has brought much-needed relief to Ado-Ekiti. We encourage other corporate organizations to emulate this gesture.”
Also speaking, Reverend Father Michael Domingo, a partner in the initiative, noted:
“The Bank has shown wisdom and compassion by supporting efforts to alleviate poverty, especially during these trying times. We are truly grateful.”
Beyond Ekiti, Fidelity Bank recently supported over 1,500 flood victims in Mokwa, Niger State, and provided food items to more than 2,000 displaced persons in the IDP camp at the Ultra-Modern International Market in Makurdi, Benue State.
