Sunday Oluemeje, a preacher, has been detained by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl in the Akodo neighbourhood of Ibeju-Lekki.
Stephen Kuti, the command’s spokesperson, said that the suspect was taken into custody on Thursday, August 18.
It was gathered that the pastor had lied to the victim and her mother and that he saw a very terrible vision on the teenager and lured them to where he wanted to do deliverance where he perpetrated the dastardly act.
Kuti claims that the suspect stated in his statement that he was just invited to the church as a guest and that he was not the owner of the building where he met the girl and her mother.
In an interview with Newsmen, the victim’s mother, Ayomikun Eyianro, urged the police to prevent the case from being overlooked. “I’m from Epe. I visited my mother in Okun Akodo yesterday, on Wednesday, along with my 14-year-old daughter.
In Akodo, there is a church just next to my mother’s home, she explained. “They had a programme in the evening, and a lot of people were there. I took my daughter there to thank God for his gracious transportation from Epe to Akodo. She claimed that the pastor had a vision of my daughter and that she would require deliverance during the session. He instructed me to go out and purchase my daughter a coconut. He left a note for us as he left the church telling us to visit Baba Obele’s residence in Akodo.
“He raped my daughter in one of the rooms of Baba Obele’s house. I learned that the pastor had resided in the home for a few days.
“At the moment, the church claims that they are unaware of him. Baba Obele also accuses my daughter of failing to sound the alarm. “My daughter told me that the man assaulted her and gagged her lips with a rag. The police should assist me in conducting a thorough investigation.Kuti, while confirming the incident said ”He ( pastor) sent the mother to go and get the items for the deliverance when he had carnal knowledge of the girl.”
