Lagos recently witnessed a cultural and sporting milestone as the iconic Silverbird Galleria became the stage for a historic Guinness World Record attempt.
Newsonspot reports that the event was powered by Globus Bank and organized by Poolfest Naija, the five-day spectacle drew thousands of spectators who gathered to experience suspense, endurance, and sheer sporting brilliance.
At the center of it all was Shehu Bamidele, whose resilience and technical mastery left the audience in awe. Playing 8-ball pool for an incredible 120 hours, he surpassed the previous world record of 111 hours, etching his name into history and inspiring a nation.
“Shehu was relentless and determined,” said Folajimi Abegunde, Project Coordinator for Poolfest Naija. “He embodied the spirit of the event, and his focus never wavered.”
The atmosphere inside the Galleria was electric as fans and casual visitors alike rallied behind Shehu, united by admiration for his mental toughness and extraordinary skill.

Reflecting on the record-breaking achievement, Shehu remarked:
