The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has passed away at the age of 90.
Newsonspot reports that his death occurred in the early hours of Monday, barely days before the planned celebrations for his 90th birthday and the first anniversary of his coronation as the 43rd Olubadan.
Oba Olakulehin was installed on June 14, 2024, following the death of his predecessor, Oba Lekan Balogun. His reign on the ancient throne lasted a little over a year.
A family source close to the palace confirmed the monarch’s passing. More details are expected to be made public soon.
