Former housemate of Big Brother Naija season 3, Patrick Fakoya, aka Rico Swavey has succumbed to the cold hands of death following his involvement in a car crash.
Newsonspot understands that Rico Swavey died from Injuries sustained in a ghastly motor accident after car crash in Ajah Lagos on Tuesday.
The reality star, actor and singer was involved in a ghastly car crash in the early hours of Tuesday at the Abraham Adesanya junction, Ajah and was receiving treatment at the ICU of EverCare Hospital Lekki.
Before Rico Swavey’s death, it was earlier reports that the former BBNaija Housemate had been on life support as his friends and fellow housemates rallied to raise funds for his medical bills.
Nigerian entertainers launched a fundraiser for Swavey on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. His fellow BBNaija ex-housemate, Tobi Bakre, made the announcement on his Twitter page on Wednesday, as he asked the public for donations.
A crowdfunding of N30 million had been launched for his treatment via a patrickfakoya.com, with only N687,000 raised as of the time of filing this report.
Unfortunately, barely 24 hours after the donation was announced, another former BBNaija Housemate, Neo Mobor Akpofure, announced on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Thursday morning, October 13, that Rico Swavey is dead.
The former BBNaija Housemate tweeted: “Rest in peace Rico, this is a hard pill to swallow. Damn”.

He was popular for his kitchen duties and peaceable attitude during his time in the house, and for his roles in Tinsel, Amstel Malta’s Life 101 teen series and other projects, including music.
