Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State and the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has called on Nigerians to embrace sacrifice, resilience, and responsible leadership as the path to a better nation.
Newsonspot reports that in his Easter message shared via X on Sunday, Obi encouraged citizens to remain hopeful despite the country’s ongoing economic and governance challenges.
Reflecting on the significance of Easter, he reminded Nigerians that difficult times are often a precursor to renewal.
According to him, “Good Friday must come before Easter Sunday,” stressing that present struggles should not define the nation’s future.
He acknowledged the economic hardship facing many families, noting that the burden has been heavy on citizens across the country. Obi urged Nigerians not to lose hope, describing the current situation as a temporary trial that can lead to national renewal if approached with resilience and unity.

The former presidential candidate also highlighted the persistent governance issues affecting daily life, while emphasizing that hope remains essential for recovery and progress.

Expressing optimism, Obi said the country’s future depends on the determination of its people and divine grace. He maintained that, despite the challenges ahead, there is still strong belief in a Nigeria that works for everyone.
“We remain hopeful that, through God’s grace and the determination of our people, the journey ahead will lead to a brighter future. Though the road may be rough, we believe in a Nigeria that works for everyone,” Obi said.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to draw strength from the Easter celebration and work collectively toward building a just, united, and prosperous nation.
