Architect Kabir Ibrahim Faskari, a former President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) and the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), has died in Turkey.
Newsonspot gathered that Faskari, who was also Chairman of the Agriculture Business Group, reportedly died in Istanbul following complications linked to a prostate surgery.
A close friend of the deceased confirmed the development, saying some of Faskari’s associates had recently visited him in Istanbul and spoke with him shortly before returning to Nigeria.
According to the source, Faskari appeared to have developed complications after undergoing the surgery.
Another source disclosed that the late agriculturist would be buried in Turkey, although details of the burial arrangements were not immediately available.
Faskari was a prominent figure in Nigeria’s agricultural sector and was actively involved in farmers’ organisations, particularly through his leadership of AFAN and PAN.
He was also a strong advocate for farmers and frequently addressed issues surrounding food production, poultry farming and the growth of agricultural businesses in Nigeria.
Over the years, Faskari granted several interviews to journalists on agriculture and food security, offering insights into the challenges confronting Nigerian farmers and the wider agricultural sector.
