The Federal Government has introduced a fully automated system for the authentication and evaluation of academic credentials, eliminating the need for physical verification visits.
Newsonspot reports that the Federal Ministry of Education disclosed that all applications for credential authentication and evaluation will now be processed exclusively online.
In a statement released on Thursday, the ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Folasade Boriowo, explained that the move is part of the government’s broader digital transformation agenda.
According to the ministry, the initiative is designed to improve data management, strengthen the integrity of academic records, and enhance overall public service delivery.
Under the new system, applicants are required to register and upload their documents through the official verification portal. In addition, educational institutions must send transcripts directly via their official email addresses to the ministry.
With this reform, applicants will no longer need to visit ministry offices for physical verification, significantly reducing stress and processing delays.
Officials noted that the automated system is expected to speed up processing times while improving the credibility and transparency of academic credential verification across Nigeria.
