Veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has shared the heartbreaking news of the loss of his newborn daughter, just hours after her birth.
Newsonspot reports that the 66-year-old actor took to Facebook on Sunday to announce that his baby girl, Omayinuwa Mayen Harriet Doyle, passed away barely a day after she was welcomed into the world.
In an emotional message, Doyle revealed that the child was born on Friday, April 10, at about 10:40 a.m., but sadly passed on Saturday, April 11, at approximately 4:15 p.m.
“Omayinuwa visited us briefly… her stay was short but it brought great joy. We would have wished for a longer stay, but heaven thought otherwise,” he wrote.
Despite the painful loss, the veteran actor expressed unwavering faith, stating that he still believes in God’s goodness even in this difficult moment. His message reflected a mix of grief, acceptance, and spiritual strength.
The tragic development comes just days after Doyle had joyfully announced the birth of his daughter with his wife, Funmilayo Doyle, noting at the time that both mother and child were in good health.
The sudden loss has since triggered an outpouring of sympathy from fans, colleagues, and well-wishers, many of whom have sent prayers and messages of support to the grieving family.
Patrick Doyle, who married Funmilayo in 2022 following his separation from actress Ireti Doyle, is now faced with an incredibly painful period of mourning.
Funmilayo is an entrepreneur and the owner of Funmidee Cuisines, a catering and private chef service business.
Doyle was previously married to his first wife, Rosamond Ndidi Doyle, who passed away in 1999 due to complications from sickle cell disease.
