Reality TV star Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has continued her Guinness World Record attempt for the most makeovers done in 24 hours, despite facing brief technical hitches, including two power outages at the venue.
Newsonspot reports that the event, which is part of the Tacha Beauty Festival, is taking place at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History in Lagos. The first outage occurred barely an hour into the session, causing brief tension among organisers and participants.
Although the main venue was not completely blacked out, lighting in the makeup section was temporarily affected. To maintain visibility, camera and LED lights were quickly deployed, while the official timer continued running, powered by a separate source.
Through the disruption, Tacha remained calm and focused, continuing her makeovers with remarkable speed and precision. Models who had already been made up were seen walking the runway, showcasing the completed looks to cheering fans.

Observers noted that Tacha worked efficiently, keeping designs simple but elegant – skipping heavy contouring to save time while maintaining quality. Each model proceeded to a photography booth for headshots before taking to the runway.
From petite to plus-size, the 150 participating models reflected a broad range of beauty and body diversity. Within the first hour, Tacha had already completed makeovers for about 15 models, leading many to believe she could finish all 150 before the 24-hour deadline if she sustains her pace.
“This is more than a record attempt. It is a statement that Nigeria’s creativity and excellence can compete anywhere in the world,” said Idris Aregbe, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism.
“The Tacha Beauty Festival is about empowering talent, celebrating culture, and creating a space where beauty meets opportunity and Lagos State is proud to support this project.”
