Food content creator Ms Dooshima has issued a public open letter to FrieslandCampina WAMCO, makers of Peak Milk, Three Crowns, Olympic, and Coast Milk, demanding clear answers over widespread reports of products turning bad or congealed.
In a video that spread rapidly on Monday, 21 September 2026, she spoke on behalf of Nigerian mothers and families who have trusted the brands for generations.
“On behalf of every Nigerian mother and family, I’m writing this open letter to FrieslandCampina WAMCO, the makers of Peak Milk, Three Crowns, Olympic and Coast Milk,” she said.
“Peak Milk has been around for more than 70 years. Our mothers trusted these brands and handed them down to us, and now we are about to hand them over to our children. Suddenly, something appears to have gone wrong with these products we have trusted for decades.”
She noted that consumers first blamed counterfeiters.
“At some point, we made excuses that perhaps some people were producing fake milk. But now, we have come to realise that, alongside the fake products in the market, some of the products that have gone bad are reportedly original products from your brand. At this point, we are scared, we are asking questions, and we deserve answers.”
Ms Dooshima, known for highlighting fake goods in Nigerian markets, urged the company to speak directly to mothers.

She asked whether the changed consistency was a new normal and still safe, or if the company planned to recall affected stock.
“If you tell us this is the new look of this milk and they are healthy even though they are congealed, we will listen. If you tell us you are on top of this matter and you’re making sure that you retrieve everything that is in the market, we will listen and we’ll be patient.”
She added that the company’s silence was fuelling anger among long-time customers who feel ignored.
Peak Milk entered the Nigerian market in 1954 and has remained a household staple for over 70 years.

NAFDAC has issued alerts and carried out raids, including a major 2025 operation in Aba that uncovered fake Peak Milk among other products.
In 2022, the firm investigated reports of congealed milk sold by an independent Lagos seller, worked with the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency, and stated that its manufacturing and distribution integrity remained intact.
The latest complaints arrive against a backdrop of rising consumer distrust over food quality and counterfeits across Nigeria. Families rely on these dairy products for children’s nutrition and daily use.
Unverified reports of original products spoiling after opening raise questions about storage, distribution, or formulation that only the manufacturer and regulators can settle with evidence.
As of Tuesday, 22 September 2026, FrieslandCampina WAMCO had not issued a public statement responding to Ms Dooshima’s video.
Past practice shows the company usually asks affected customers to share batch details privately for investigation.
Nigerian mothers and consumers will be watching for an official clarification, any product checks, or guidance on how to identify genuine items that remain safe.
