United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has rewarded thousands of customers with more than ₦400 million in anniversary bonuses through its flagship UBA Bumper Account, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to rewarding customer loyalty and promoting a strong savings culture across Nigeria.
Newsonspot reports that the latest payout ranks among the largest loyalty reward distributions since the UBA Bumper Account was introduced. Eligible customers received the cash bonuses directly into their accounts as a reward for maintaining and growing their savings over time.
The UBA Bumper Account is a savings product designed to encourage consistent saving by rewarding customers whose accounts reach their anniversary while meeting the required conditions. The annual cash bonus serves as an added incentive for customers to build long-term financial discipline.
Speaking on the milestone, Tomiwa Sotiloye, Head of Retail Products at UBA, said the bank remains committed to creating products that deliver real value while rewarding responsible financial habits.
According to him, customer loyalty deserves meaningful recognition, noting that every anniversary bonus reflects the bank’s appreciation for customers who continue to entrust UBA with their financial goals.
Sotiloye said surpassing the ₦400 million reward milestone demonstrates UBA’s dedication to offering savings products that not only help customers build wealth but also provide tangible financial benefits. He added that the bank grows alongside its customers by supporting their financial aspirations.
He further encouraged both existing and prospective customers to open a UBA Bumper Account through the UBA Mobile Banking App, any UBA branch, the bank’s USSD platform, or its online channels to qualify for future anniversary rewards.
Also speaking, Alero Ladipo, UBA’s Group Head of Brands, Marketing and Corporate Communications, said the bank’s customer-first philosophy continues to drive the development of innovative retail banking products.
She explained that the UBA Bumper Account reflects the bank’s commitment to rewarding responsible financial behaviour while delivering real value to customers. According to her, crediting over ₦400 million directly into customers’ accounts demonstrates UBA’s promise to make banking more rewarding and to appreciate the confidence customers place in the institution.
The anniversary reward programme is part of UBA’s broader retail banking strategy, which combines digital banking solutions with incentives aimed at encouraging regular savings, deepening customer engagement and expanding access to financial services.
As competition for retail deposits continues to grow, many Nigerian banks are introducing reward-based savings products to strengthen customer relationships and promote financial inclusion.
Widely recognised as Africa’s Global Bank, UBA serves more than 45 million customers across 20 African countries, as well as the United Kingdom, the United States, France, and the United Arab Emirates. The bank continues to expand its digital banking services while investing in innovative products designed to enhance customer experience and support long-term financial wellbeing.
