A 30-year-old APC aspirant living with disability, Mahmud Sadis Buba, has withdrawn from the race for the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency seat in Kaduna State.
Newsonspot gathered that Buba announced his decision in a letter addressed to the state chairman of the ruling party, stating that his withdrawal takes immediate effect ahead of the APC primaries.
The young politician explained that stepping away from the contest should not be interpreted as weakness or surrender, stressing that his passion for politics and public service remains strong.
According to him, he remains committed to advocating for inclusion and better representation for persons living with disabilities in Nigeria’s political space.
Mahmud Sadis Buba gained attention during the build-up to the primaries for championing greater participation of youths and persons with disabilities in governance and leadership.
His withdrawal has continued to generate reactions among party supporters and political observers in Kaduna State, with some expressing disappointment while others commended his courage and maturity.
The development comes as political parties intensify internal preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections, with many aspirants making last-minute decisions before party primaries conclude.
Buba, however, has yet to announce his next political move following his exit from the race.
