Senegal have booked a place in the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after edging Egypt 1–0 in a dominant semi-final clash on Wednesday night.
Newsonspot reports that star forward Sadio Mane scored the decisive goal in the 79th minute to seal victory for the Teranga Lions against the Pharaohs of Egypt.

The match was largely one-sided, with Senegal controlling the tempo from start to finish. They enjoyed over 69 percent possession, leaving Egypt with just 31.1 percent. Senegal also created more attacking chances, recording six shots on goal in the first half and four more in the second half. Egypt, by contrast, failed to register a single shot on target throughout the match.
With the win, Senegal now await the winner of the second semi-final between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and host nation Morocco, scheduled to kick off at 9pm.
