Mrs. Favour Benson, the Executive Director of Jashabel Touch-A-Heart Foundation (JTAH Foundation), has joined global voices in celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child 2025, commending the courage, strength, and leadership of girls everywhere.
This year’s theme, “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis,” shines a light on the resilience and power of girls who continue to make a difference in their communities despite facing numerous challenges.
In her message, Favour Benson described girls as “the heartbeat of transformation,” emphasizing their important role in shaping the future through education, innovation, and compassion.
“Every girl carries within her the seed of greatness. Even in times of crisis, they continue to rise, lead, and inspire. At JTAH Foundation, we are proud to stand with every girl child and remain committed to promoting their rights, protection, and empowerment,” she stated.
She encouraged all stakeholders – parents, leaders, and communities – to continue creating environments that nurture girls’ potential and allow them to lead confidently.
“Let us continue to invest in the girl child, give them opportunities, and amplify their voices. The change we seek begins with empowering our girls,” she added.
Favour Benson reaffirmed the JTAH Foundation’s ongoing dedication to advocacy, education, and support initiatives that uplift girls and protect their dignity.
“Happy International Day of the Girl Child! Girls are not just the future – they are the leaders of today.”
