The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, October 1, 2025, a public holiday to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
Newsonspot reports that in a statement signed by the Ministry of Interior’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, extended warm congratulations to Nigerians both at home and abroad on the landmark occasion.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged citizens to uphold the values of patriotism, unity, and resilience that have sustained the nation since independence in 1960. He further encouraged Nigerians to remain committed to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on national renewal, economic growth, and shared prosperity.

Expressing optimism, the minister stated that with collective effort, Nigeria will continue to advance in peace, development, and progress. He also extended best wishes to all citizens for a joyful and memorable Independence Day celebration.
