The fashion world is grieving the loss of Giorgio Armani, the legendary Italian designer who passed away at the age of 91.
Newsonspot reports that in a statement on Thursday, the Armani Group announced his passing, describing him as its “creator, founder, and tireless driving force.” The company confirmed that Armani died peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, and noted that he remained dedicated to his work until his final days.
Armani, who launched his iconic self-named label in 1975, revolutionized the fashion industry with his sleek, minimalist, and timeless designs. His influence extended far beyond clothing, shaping trends in lifestyle, interior design, fragrances, and luxury accessories.
Over the years, Armani became a favorite among Hollywood stars, dressing A-list celebrities for major red carpet events, while also styling world leaders, athletes, and cultural icons. His work redefined Italian fashion on the global stage and cemented his status as one of the greatest designers in history.
The funeral chamber will be set up from Sept. 6-7, and will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Milan, at Via Bergognone 59, inside the Armani/Teatro. In accordance with Armani’s explicit wishes, the funeral will be held privately.
