The National Population Commission (NPC) is mulling a three-day movement restriction nationwide for the 2023 census.
The Population Commission had earlier announced that the nationwide census will hold from May 3 to 7, 2023.
This was revealed by the Chairman of the National Population Commission, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, during a meeting with the Diplomatic Corps in Abuja on Thursday.

However, the start date will only be confirmed after consultations with state governors.
Hon. Kwarra also stated that the commission would work with the Minister of Foreign Affairs to determine the best way for the Diplomatic Corps to participate in the exercise.

At the meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, he highlighted the importance of the census in Nigeria’s development.
