Prophetess Evelyn Owoleke of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Bayo Ajao Street Aboru in Lagos state, has been arrested by men of the state police command after a woman, Seun Olrunto, died while giving birth inside her church on May 4.
According to reports, Owoleke was arrested after one Olaloye Jolayemi reported at Oke Odo Police Station that Seun Olorunto died after she was delivered of a baby boy by the prophetess in her church.
Homicide detectives in the state command visited the scene and found the deceased lying in the pool of her blood, suggesting that the deceased person might have bled to death due to complications.
The corpse was removed from the church to General Hospital Yaba for autopsy while her baby was taken to hospital for medical examination and care.
The prophetess was arrested and taken to the State CID Yaba.
Investigation is ongoing.
