President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned attacks in the name of revenge following tension between the Fulani and Addara communities in Kaduna.
Reacting on Tuesday, May 12, to the wave of attacks and counterattacks on people among the Fulani and Addara communities in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State, the Nigerian president said that revenge killing is wrong.
“Killing people in the name of revenge is not acceptable,” President Buhari said as he condemned the recent bout of attack and counter attack reported on Tuesday.
He added that the recourse to self-help, instead of the law of the land is the real cause of the killings and counter killings between the two communities.
He said these in a statement released by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity.
“The President warned that no person has the right to take the law in his or her own hands,” Garba Shehu added in the statement.
