It was a day filled with emotions, memories, and heartfelt tributes at the headquarters of Laughter Foundation International Ministry in Lagos, where pastors, church leaders, friends, and well-wishers gathered to honour the late Pastor Moses Gbenga Oso – fondly known as “God’s General” and “Daddy of a Million Babies”.
Pastor Oso, whose ministry brought hope to countless families believing God for children, passed away on November 4. His funeral service, held yesterday, drew influential Christian leaders and hundreds of people whose lives had been touched by his ministry.
Among those present were Rev. Mrs. Bimpe Adelaja representing Pastor Folu Adeboye; Pastor Rotimi Alaba, Provost of the Redeemed Bible School; Dr. Daniel Olukoya of MFM, represented by Pastor Kehinde Abiodun; and several leaders of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, including Kosofe Coordinator Apostle Joshua Olaoye. Teachers, children’s ministers, and members from various churches also attended.
A Service Filled With Worship and Reflection
The atmosphere grew heavy with emotion as the MFM Guitar Choir delivered a soul-lifting performance. Evangelist Bisade Philip followed with the solemn hymn “Tell My Father I Will Be There,” drawing tears from many in the congregation.
Pastor Kehinde Abiodun, representing Dr. Olukoya, delivered a touching sermon that served as both a tribute and a reminder of life’s fragility. He prayed for the Oso family and encouraged the church to stand strong, assuring them that the Laughter Foundation International Ministry would continue to flourish.
“We are proud of him,” he said. “May the Lord fill every vacuum he has left behind.”
He urged the congregation to live with purpose, settle unresolved issues, and remember that death often comes without warning.
“Some die in their sleep; some die on the road. Live every day as if tomorrow may not come,” he warned.
His message left many deep in thought, quietly reflecting on the weight of his words.
A Legacy That Lives On
Pastor Moses Oso earned the affectionate title “Daddy of a Million Babies” because of the countless testimonies of couples who received children through his intercessory ministry. Many who attended the service shared stories of impossible situations turned around through his prayers.
“He lived a full life,” Pastor Abiodun said. “A life poured out in service.”
His wife, Mrs. Dorcas Ikeola Oso, delivered an emotional tribute. Through tears, she described her husband as a man who served God with urgency and loved deeply.
“You stopped so suddenly,” she said. “Your dedication to people was sacrificial. I supported you all the way. Keep resting in the bosom of your Maker until we meet again.”
His first son, Paul Oso, reflected on his father’s generosity and the lasting imprint he left on everyone around him.
“You were a giver,” he said. “You carried your family with love, sometimes loudly, sometimes quietly, but always with intention.”
Deacon Segun Dipe recalled Pastor Oso’s passion for service, noting that he ensured every member of the church was fed every Sunday – and had already paid for the feeding for the Sunday after his passing.
Final Farewell
At about 1:30 p.m., the coffin was wheeled out as the family wept and said their final goodbyes. Though Pastor Oso is gone, his legacy – written in the testimonies of families, the children born through his ministry, and the many lives he touched – will continue to shine for generations.
As the sun set, it was clear to all present that the light of Pastor Moses Gbenga Oso’s impact would never fade.
