The Lagos State Film and Video Censor Board (LSFVCB), led by its Executive Secretary, Mrs. Adebukola Agbaminoja, hosted its 2025 Stakeholders Conference on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the ASSBIFI Event Centre, Alausa, Ikeja.
Themed “Navigating the Future of Film: Balancing Creativity, Compliance and Cultural Integrity,” the event gathered filmmakers, producers, content creators, distributors and major players across the entertainment sector.
The conference opened with prayers and the national anthem rendered by DAHR, followed by a welcome address from the Permanent Secretary, MTAC, Mrs. Adebopo Oyekan-Ismaila. The Honourable Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. ’Toke Benson-Awoyinka, delivered the keynote address.
Mrs. Adebukola Agbaminoja presented LSFVCB’s vision and future direction, while industry experts delivered insightful sessions:
Fadekemi Olumide-Aluko: “Guided Freedom – Compliance as a Catalyst for Creative Excellence.”
Mr. Zik Zulu Okafor: “Addressing the Rise of Violence and Abuse on Film Sets.”
Mr. Segun Arinze: “Digital Citizenship and Online Etiquette.”
A panel discussion on Film Distribution and Market Growth featured Chioma Ude, Uche Agbo and Moses Babatope, moderated by Dr. Victor Okhai.
The programme also included goodwill messages, drama presentations by LSFVCB and Arts & Culture teams, a Dance performance by Wunmi, and a health talk alongside a Health Insurance Scheme presentation by Mr. Rotimi Olatunji.
The event attracted strong representation from both the English and Yoruba film sectors. Notable attendees included past presidents of AMP, AGN and DGN such as Mr. Paul Obazele, Mr. Zik Zulu Okafor, Mr. Segun Arinze and Dr. Victor Okhai, as well as industry stakeholders including Mr. Tony Chukuma, Favour Benson, Mr. Femi Odugbemi, Elder Mahmood Alli-Balogun, Veteran Adewale Elesho Adeoye, Kingsley Omoefe, Mr. Sangito (Chairman AGN Lagos Chapter), Cornel Udofia, Ronnie Dikko, Tunji Bamishigbin, Mr. Uche Agbo (DGN) and so many others.
The Association of Nigeria Theatre-Arts Practitioners (ANTP), led by its President Dr. Razaq Oyadiran Baroka and National Secretary Princess Teju Agunlejika, were also well represented.
Mrs. Agbaminoja delivered the closing remarks and vote of thanks assuring that the communique from the conference will be channeled to the appropriate quarters, as the event wrapped up with refreshments and lively entertainment for all attendees.
