The Awolowo family has announced the passing of Mr. Olusegun Awolowo, former Executive Director of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) and grandson of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo. He died at the age of 62.
Newsonspot reports that in an official statement, the family expressed deep sorrow over the loss of their beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
“With extremely heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather – Olusegun Awolowo.
He was the most phenomenal husband, father and grandfather – steady, wise, endlessly loving, and the constant anchor of our family.”
The family described him as a devoted public servant whose life was marked by vision, integrity, passion, and unwavering commitment to Nigeria. They added that he was a true family man, a loyal friend, a servant of God, and a deeply kind human being who touched the lives of many.

They continued:
“We are shattered by this loss, but forever grateful for his life, his legacy, and the love he poured into all of us. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
The family also announced that condolences will be received at his residence between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm daily.
