Nigeria has lost Senator Okey Ezea, the lawmaker representing Enugu North Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
Newsonspot gathered that he reportedly passed away on Tuesday in the United Kingdom, where he had been receiving medical treatment.
Senator Ezea, elected under the Labour Party (LP), was the only remaining LP lawmaker from Enugu State at the federal level. His death was first announced by popular on-air personality ‘Senator’ Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, who shared the sad news in a Facebook post.

Although full details surrounding his death remain unclear, multiple reports indicate that he had earlier undergone treatment in Germany. Reactions have continued to pour in across social media as colleagues, supporters, and constituents express their shock.
Senator Okey Ezea, a well-known politician from Itchi in Igboeze South LGA of Enugu State, had contested various political positions over the years. Before his election to the Senate in 2023, he was a lawyer and businessman.
