Shareholders of Dangote Cement Plc have reaped over N3.3 billion in dividends over the last 15 years, alongside enjoying significant capital appreciation on their holdings.
The update was shared during the “Facts Behind the Figures” presentation on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), led by the new Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Ikazoboh, who recently succeeded Aliko Dangote.
Ikazoboh expressed gratitude to shareholders for their loyalty and assured them of consistent and improved returns on their investments.
“To our investors, you have my unwavering commitment to safeguarding and growing your investment,” he said, reiterating the company’s goal of making Africa self-sufficient in cement and clinker production.”
Future Growth & Expansion:
Chief Executive Arvind Pa€thak disclosed that Dangote Cement aims to increase its installed capacity to 66.4Mta by 2030, driven by greenfield and brownfield projects.

Over the past 15 years, Dangote Cement has invested $8.5 billion across Africa, signaling its strong confidence in the continent’s growth potential.

NGX Group Chairman, Alhaji (Dr.) Umaru Kwairanga, applauded Aliko Dangote for his contributions to the capital market and private sector development, while NGX Group MD, Temi Popoola, expressed confidence that Ikazoboh’s leadership would keep shareholders satisfied.
During the company’s 2024 AGM, shareholders approved a N502.6 billion dividend payout (N30 per share) – the highest dividend declared by any manufacturing company in the period.
Additionally, Dangote Cement increased its CSR spending by 469.8% to N3.2 billion, with initiatives spanning education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and economic empowerment.
Shareholder leaders, including Faruk Umar (AARNS) and Bisi Bakare (Pragmatic Shareholders Association of Nigeria), commended the company’s resilience and governance quality, noting its commitment to rewarding investors despite economic challenges.
