Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has clarified that the truck involved in the recent accident in Enugu State does not belong to the company.
In an official statement, the management explained that investigations revealed the vehicle was owned by Visco Investment Global Limited, a third-party operator.
“We are actively engaging with the relevant agencies to determine why the truck was bearing our logo despite not being part of our fleet. Moving forward, we will increase scrutiny to prevent unauthorised use of our brand identity, particularly the misuse of our logo on vehicles not affiliated with the Group,” the company stated.
Dangote Industries emphasized that it typically does not comment publicly on individual cases but was compelled to respond due to the spread of misinformation attributing such incidents to the Group without evidence.
The company urged the public and media to avoid circulating unverified claims and allow investigators to carry out their duties without interference.
“We categorically reject any attempt to exploit such tragedies for malicious or financial gain,” the statement added.
Dangote Group reaffirmed its commitment to corporate responsibility, safety, and integrity across all its operations.
