The Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO) is set to host the 15th edition of its annual Autism Conference from July 15 to 16, 2025, at the Muson Centre, Lagos.
Newsonspot reports that this year’s theme, “From Awareness to Action: 15 Years of Advancing Autism Inclusion,” underscores GTCO’s unwavering commitment to advocacy, empowerment, and inclusion for individuals living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The announcement was made during a media briefing held at GTCO’s head office in Victoria Island, Lagos. The conference aims to foster inclusivity, self-advocacy, and support for individuals with ASD, along with their families and caregivers.
In his welcome address, Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Segun Agbaje, reflected on the journey of the Orange Ribbon Initiative, which began in 2009. He emphasized that the initiative was launched to support children with neurodevelopmental disorders and the families who care for them.
“Our goal is to build a future where every child can thrive through early intervention, awareness, and systemic support,” he said.
Agbaje further stressed the importance of taking deliberate actions beyond awareness.
“This 15th milestone is a call to deepen our understanding and ensure that individuals on the autism spectrum are not only supported but truly empowered, included, and celebrated,” he stated.
The conference will be followed by free one-on-one consultations from July 17 to 19 at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja, Lagos. GTCO will also extend the program to Ghana with a second leg scheduled for July 21 to 24 at the University of Professional Studies in Accra.
