The late elder statesman and former President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief (Engr. Dr.) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has made headlines once more – even in death.
A final Will, released on June 16, 2025, reveals detailed instructions on how the influential businessman and politician wished his vast estate to be distributed. The Will, administered by Chief Chukwuma Ekomaru (SAN), reflects Iwuanyanwu’s deeply personal and philanthropic intentions.
One of the most striking provisions is directed at his wife, Lolo Frances Iwuanyanwu. Although she inherits several valuable assets – including the iconic “Legacy House” on Port Harcourt Road, Owerri, Magil Furniture (formerly managed by his late first wife, Eudora), and part-ownership of various real estate holdings in Orji, Works Layout, and Naze – these come with a strict condition: Frances must never remarry. Should she choose to do so, she will forfeit all inherited properties.
The Will also allocates other key assets:

The London property is to be sold, with proceeds split as follows:
60% for the education of his youngest son
30% to his first son, Jide
10% to Ezinne, currently living in the property, to support her housing transition
In a noteworthy gesture of public service, Iwuanyanwu ordered the conversion of the “Glass House” near Orji flyover into a public trust, managed by an independent board and dedicated to charitable and community-focused causes.
The remainder of his properties across Imo, Abuja, and other parts of Nigeria were equitably distributed among his five children, who have commended their father’s Will as “honorable and just.”
