Kai Havertz opened the scoring after 15 minutes, finishing clinically after Riccardo Calafiori delivered a dangerous cross into the box.
Arsenal doubled their advantage eight minutes later when Bukayo Saka reacted quickly to a rebound from Coventry goalkeeper Carl Rushworth to score from close range.
Martin Ødegaard completed the victory shortly after the restart, with the Arsenal captain finding the net in the 49th minute following good work from Saka and Ben White.

The visitors managed only four shots as Arsenal controlled the contest and rarely looked threatened.
Greek winger Christos Tzolis also impressed on his first league start for Arsenal following his summer move from Club Brugge, having already provided two assists in the Community Shield.
Arsenal’s latest signing, Ezri Konsa, was also introduced to supporters before kick-off after completing his £51 million move from Aston Villa. The England defender could make his debut against his former club when Arsenal travel to Villa Park on August 31.
The victory gives Arsenal the perfect start to their bid to retain the Premier League title. The Gunners, however, will have to wait 10 days before their next league fixture.
With new additions strengthening an already impressive squad, Arsenal have sent an early warning to their title rivals that they intend to remain at the top.
