The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has released Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya, father of Ilebaye Odiniya Emmanuel, following his brief detention over an alleged domestic altercation involving family members.
Newsonspot reports that the incident, which gained public attention after a viral video surfaced online showing Ilebaye with visible facial injuries and in emotional distress, reportedly occurred at Royal Anchor Estate in Abuja on Saturday, May 9.
According to reports, Hon. Odiniya was taken into custody at the Wuye Divisional Police Headquarters after officers intervened in the situation.
Speaking on the development, his estranged wife, Mrs. Lami Odiniya, explained that the incident stemmed from longstanding family tensions following the breakdown of their 32-year marriage.
She disclosed that Ilebaye had visited her father’s residence to see her two younger brothers ahead of her 24th birthday celebration when an argument allegedly broke out over issues relating to the children’s upbringing and parental influence.

“At about 9:00 a.m., the Police ordered the boys’ return to their father’s home, citing the existing court order,” she stated.
Earlier reports indicated that police officers rescued Ilebaye and her younger brothers from the residence after allegedly encountering resistance at the compound and security dogs during the operation.
Following the incident, the reality TV star was taken to the NNPC Hospital in Abuja for medical attention and treatment.
