Reports surrounding the alleged collapse of the marriage between Nollywood actress Roseline Meurer and businessman Olakunle Churchill have taken a new turn, as Churchill has firmly denied claims that the two were ever legally married.
Newsonspot gathered that the controversy, which has been making rounds on social media, initially suggested that Meurer had filed for divorce. However, Churchill, in a statement shared via his Instagram page on Wednesday, described the reports as false and misleading.
According to him, there was no legally recognized union between himself and the actress. He clarified that their relationship only involved a traditional introduction, with no church or court wedding to validate claims of a formal marriage.
“There was no legally recognized marriage. There was no church wedding and no court wedding. What took place was an introduction. Therefore, the idea of a ‘divorce’ is baseless from the outset,” he stated.
Churchill further questioned the authenticity of the alleged divorce process, noting that he was never formally served any legal documents, as required by law.
“Any legitimate legal process requires all parties to be formally served and given the opportunity to respond. I was never served,” he added, expressing doubts about the credibility of the reports being circulated.
He also criticised individuals he described as inexperienced in media and legal practice, alleging that misinformation was being spread without due process.
The clarification follows days of speculation after the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram on April 24, 2026, a move that ignited rumours of a split and renewed speculation that Olakunle Churchill might be seeking a reconciliation with his ex-wife, actress and evangelist Tonto Dikeh.

Addressing issues surrounding his past relationship with actress Tonto Dikeh, Churchill noted that any disagreements between them had been privately resolved. He emphasised that such matters were personal and should not be misrepresented in public discourse.
While acknowledging that Meurer faced public scrutiny during their relationship, Churchill downplayed narratives portraying her as having played a significant role in his personal battles, insisting that he remained responsible for handling his own affairs.
The statement comes amid heightened speculation online, further fueling public debate over the true status of their relationship.
