A top Lagos real estate executive has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over alleged involvement in large-scale drug trafficking.
Newsonspot reports that the suspect, Mr. Kolapo Oladapo Raji, 57, is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Trans Fortress Global Resources, a popular real estate development company. He was arrested at his residence, Safe Court Apartment, Ikate, Lekki, Lagos, on Thursday, February 12, 2026, shortly after returning from a trip to the United Kingdom.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued on Sunday by the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr. Femi Babafemi. According to the agency, Raji had been under close surveillance since 2025 after credible intelligence linked him to illicit drug activities.
A search of his upscale apartment led to the recovery of four large bags containing parcels of Canadian Loud, a strong strain of cannabis, weighing a total of 89.20 kilograms. NDLEA operatives also recovered a 2024 Toyota Hilux vehicle from him during the operation.
In his statement to investigators, Raji reportedly admitted that he initially became involved in the drug trade by funding shipments for an overseas associate. He claimed that the huge financial returns from those transactions later motivated him to set up his own drug distribution network.
The development has shocked many within Lagos business and real estate circles, where Raji was widely known for property development rather than criminal activity. While the NDLEA has not yet confirmed if more arrests will follow, the agency says investigations into the alleged network are still ongoing.
