The Federal Government has announced Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha.
Newsonspot reports that this declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released on Monday through the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended warm greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. He encouraged the Muslim faithful to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, obedience, and faith as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).
The Minister also urged Nigerians to use the festive period to offer prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity in the country. He emphasized that the ongoing reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are aimed at returning Nigeria to the path of progress and development.
As he wished the Muslim community a joyous celebration, Dr. Tunji-Ojo called on all citizens to support the government’s efforts to rebuild the nation and uphold its greatness.
